Methodology

First Ground is an open public-records site for North American organics, compost, anaerobic digestion, RNG, and landfill gas facilities. Every record is public; community submissions are moderated before they change the registry.

Verification statuses

Verified operating: coordinates and operating status meet our confirmed-location bar.
Unverified location: coordinates from a registry or agency feed; field check pending.
Possibly closed or defunct: registry or civic data suggests the site may no longer operate.
Numbered company / unknown operator: legal name on file; operator identity pending resolution.

Sources

Records cite the originating agency or registry (LMOP, AgSTAR, SWIS, provincial GIS, and similar). Respect the original licence terms of each source agency.
